Enjoy a Night at Kinneil on May 13

festival-ofmuseums200wideFor one night only, Kinneil House and Museum in Bo’ness are opening their doors at night – and you’re invited to come along!

Expect some surprises, great history – and a chance to see BATS!

The event is part of the Scotland-wide Festival of Museums and the UK’s Museums at Night Festival. It also supports the local Nature-Fest.

The event will kick off at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 13 – and run until dusk.

For the first hour, you’ll be able to tour Kinneil House (last admission 6.45 p.m.) The House boasts some of the best renaissance wall paintings in Scotland.

Neighbouring Kinneil Museum will also be open from 6-9 p.m. Expect free goodie bags (while stocks last), special events and quizzes and lots more in the museum. During the evening there will also be performances from the Forth Bridges Accordion Band.

Around 8.30 p.m. a “Bat Walk” will leave the museum, giving visitors the chance to tour the surrounding Kinneil Estate on a nature walk and then look for bats … appropriate for Friday the 13th! Children must be accompanied by an adult. The walk will end around dusk, around 9.30-10 p.m.
